The TP-Link KL400L5 is 16.4 feet long and uses a 4-pin connector system. The system connects via WiFi 2.4 GHz for remote access. There's also a physical button on the controller itself to turn it on and off. Changing the backlight color or using one of the templates is done through the Kasa app. I bought a set to use as closet lighting. I ran through a strip, trimmed the excess at one of the intersections, and then connected an extension cord to run under another cabinet. I used solderless terminals to connect extension cords if needed. Advantages: • Very easy setup and installation. • The Kasa app is easy to use. • The tape is nice and thin, making it easy to hide under a flat surface. Cons: • No dedicated white LED. If you want to adjust the white light, you'll have to try setting it up using the app's color wheel. When you use an RGB strip for white, you're actually using red, green, and blue LEDs together. This can cause the light to turn blue or red if you don't fine-tune it. I personally would like TP-Link to release an RGBW strip that also has a separate LED for white. • Not weatherproof. This strip does not have a gel backing and should NOT be used in wet/damp areas or outdoors. It doesn't bother me too much as I wasn't planning on using it outdoors, but I guarantee someone will try anyway and if it blows through they'll complain about it. • With my roll I noticed that the strip was soldered. in multiple sections to make it a full 16.4 feet rather than a solid strip. It's not a big deal, but it can cause a problem when using solderless connectors to extend the strip. Also, I wanted to contact another reviewer who explained that after cutting it off, the cut off part stopped working. Last time I checked, if you cut the wire, the cut off section no longer works. So yes, cutting the section connecting the two parts will result in the cut part not working. If you've looked into strip lights, they all come in different lengths and at different prices. There are also different types of terminals for connecting excess lengths in a separate area or adding additional sets. These clamps are supplied as clamps without soldering and soldering.
