I recently bought these 2 thermometers to monitor the cooking of steaks. I started using red last week and my steak was a mess (rare). I've cooked filet mignon with a thermometer 500 times in the last 10 years and have never been able to get it medium rare. I failed last week. I immediately suspected a new thermometer. This week I decided to turn on the backup thermometer. I set up a comparison (see photo) Red lost π‘ BAD. The company refunded my money so I'm not complaining but the filet mignon is $29 a pound and it was an expensive steak. I guess I shouldn't be surprised it's 2020.
