UPDATE: It's melted. I charged a battery from another via a Drok volt/amp/watt meter and at less than 15 amps the smell started and the spring relaxed. Like the others. Sigh. I think I'm done with cigarette lighter plugs by moving to EC5 which handles a lot more power. A MUCH heavier spring inside than most, and the spring is in a metal cage that keeps it from melting through the plastic and shorting out like I've done on others. The side contacts are pushed out by rubber inserts, which in turn reduces drag on harder contact. The wire is quite heavy, but as usual the wire to insulation ratio is higher than necessary making it look thicker than it really is. Good for the short length they offer.
