I love Creative Grids rulers so I was dying to try this time-saving ruler. I just completed a quilt that included 96 strips that were 10.5" each and 56 blocks that were 10.5" each. I've found that if you make even the slightest mistake in folding the fabric, your cuts can be wrong! I had to trim the entire width of the fabric for a set of 10.5 inch strips. Luckily I had enough material. I am very experienced in rotary cutting, measuring, topstitching and quilting. My advice: DO NOT try to fold long yards, but first cut the yardage into more convenient lengths, like 1.5 yards or even 2, but the more yards you try to fold, the more imprecise the fold can become. I ended up tacking the edges together, and while that helped, I didn't trust the 10-foot crease. Also you need to make sure the fold is correct and smooth as raw cuts/bolt edges can be crooked and if you just straighten the edges your cuts will be crooked! Accuracy is a must. Once you fold your ruler accurately, this ruler is a wonder and a time saver!
