Better than most thanks to AA batteries

This flashlight has one major advantage over most other flashlights of its kind, which is that it uses 3 AA batteries instead of AAA batteries. Battery life is determined by how many mAh (milliamp hours) of power can be stored in a single battery. AA can store about 2000 while AAA can only store about 700! Do I need to explain more? A few downsides that aren't too serious - the light temperature is 6200K, and I would prefer a warmer light of 2700-3000. It doesn't matter. More seriously, the motion sensor will NOT turn on the light unless the room is dark! To be honest, when I go to my pantry to look for something in the winter, there isn't enough light to see clearly. But my light won't come on because of my movement. In other words, the light sensor decides whether the motion sensor is allowed to work or not. When the light sensor picks up light, it blocks the motion sensor. I believe this can be disabled but would require some knowledge to identify the light sensor and disconnect it from the circuit. I think the light sensor is too sensitive in the sense that when the door is opened the light sensor doesn't work when there is a lot of light in the room - most of the time daylight comes in through the windows. So basically this light only comes on when driving, when it's night and the lights in the house aren't too bright. I ordered 6 of these from Revain in one place. Also, be careful when using masking tape because removing it will likely strip the paint off the drywall.

Pros
  • Comfortable to use
Cons
  • Not fancy
