Review on πŸ”§ NEIKO 01925A Screw Extractor and Left Hand Drill Bit Set: 10 Piece, Cobalt HSS Drill Bits, Alloy Extractors in Clear Color by Carlos King

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Run both supplied drill bits and extractor "anti-clockwise "!

Worked like clockwork for me! Used to remove rusted Phillips head screws holding brake discs - a pain in the ass! There are no instructions, but be sure to drill through the broken screw first by turning the drill bit "counterclockwise" (not the usual clockwise direction)! Otherwise the drill will not bite into the metal. Once you've drilled about 1/4 deep, insert the appropriate extractor into the drill bit and turn counter-clockwise, also at low speed. The extractor should "bite" the broken screw and push it out. You can then remove the screw from the extractor by holding it with pliers while turning the drill clockwise. This process turns bearish when the hardened end of a Phillips screwdriver snaps off inside the screw! The hardened bit fragment resists any drilling material.
