Like other reviewers, I spend more than the original price on this flashlight. It worked so well that I decided to rip up the carpet and replace it with laminate. I used this light to find cat urine and what appeared to be vomit. You need to buy/provide AA batteries. I've used cheap, low-power, dollar-store batteries with no problems. In general, the flashlight makes a good and reliable impression. I don't feel like it's going to break if you drop it or accidentally hit a chair leg or whatever while checking for stains. I have a very messy ugly brown carpet that makes it difficult to see anything. I was afraid the light just wouldn't work because of the pattern/color but oh my god. It worked. I could find every little dot. I started from where I knew the fag had peed so I knew what to look for. The picture shows the spot where my poor girl vomited. In fact, you can see a spot with no light, but that's the only spot that's clearly visible on the camera. This place got cleaned twice right after she threw up. Rough. I couldn't capture the urine stains on camera as they looked more like a yellow marker on brown paper. If you know what you are looking for you will find them, but they are very difficult to spot and I have a cheap phone. I guess those flashlights aren't great for cat stains, which you're warned about anyway.
