The design of Sperry's Striper II probably dates back to the Keds, and the concept of canvas shoes rather than rubber shoes originated in Britain as early as the 19th century. Since then, many companies have made a version of this shoe. I like the look of Vans (a much younger company in the footwear world) but they rarely fit my wide feet. I don't think Keds stops making shoes like this for men. This is my second pair of Sperry and I am happy with them. This classic style never gets boring and is very comfortable in medium to wide widths. Cheap, casual and cool, I love these Sperrys!
