Review on Puppia Authentic Frost Pet Coat: Optimal Winter Protection for Your Beloved Pets by Chef Buntiloy

My Shih Tzu has this coat and similar vest from Puppia Mountaineer. I like it better because the zipper is metal instead of plastic like the vest. The plastic can slip a bit after the zipper. This coat also has a great collar. It hugs the neck like a turtleneck and has a drawstring for adjustment. In comparison, the maid vest has a more open collar, allowing cold air to enter directly. On cold days I put her in a turtleneck sweater first, then a mountain vest, and she's nice and cozy. Although both versions are water-repellent, Mountaineer appears to be more water-repellent. Overall, I prefer the Frost Pet Coat for its secure collar and metal zipper. Note that the measuring guide lists fur sizes, NOT dog sizes. My 10 lb Shih Tzu is 10.5" neck, 16" chest and 12" length so I got her a large size that fits with some room - if you want to wear a sweater. The attached straps are also adjustable for a snug or loose fit.The tag says hand wash but I machine wash and dry them (many times over the last winter) and all Puppia coats look great.Plus your pup will look incredibly smart, and who doesn't love that? ;)PS: My dog loves this coat because it DOES NOT have velcro like many other coats.The sound of the velcro scared her and her fur got stuck in it.Now we're both happy!
