I use these sliders specifically for b-roll shoots and product presentations in a corporate marketing environment. Of course, a quality slider is an absolute must, as I've seen very shaky or less fluid movements that I can tell were a cheap slider being used. What I love about this new GVM slider is that the motor is on the side and not on the camera plate itself. This prevents the wired remote from shifting and also eliminates the possibility of accidentally snagging the cable and dragging the entire unit or disrupting the overall movement. I also noticed that the motor controls were smoother, including the movement itself. The body feels stiffer than the last block I had to bend when the camera was 3/4 or more off center in any direction. I recommend using two sturdy tripods when setting it up on the ground to shoot the slider with the best possible stabilization. start and end position. But the more I think about it, it's probably getting tricky when the motor moves after the power is off and the calibration is basically reset. If there was some sort of left-to-right auto-calibration as well, that would be a bonus too. But the edge-to-edge manual calibration doesn't take long, and it was amazing to have a smooth oil slide. Experience in capturing new footage and creating a mini marketing campaign. You get a nice padded case for all the cables and a battery pack with charger to make it really work. These GVM sliders seem to draw very little power as the medium capacity battery seems to power this thing for a long time before it starts showing battery drain. Overall it's worth every penny in my opinion. Even though a 48 inch camera can sometimes be very long, I always find myself using the full length for some creative shots!
