The wheel is good for general driving. You can skip the pedals and just control the speed from the steering wheel. They need a smooth surface for the suction cups to cling to - they do their job well but slipped a bit when I got a little over-revved in the game. The wheel will center itself when you release it, which is a nice feature. I tried using the steering wheel to control the motor boat game that came with the XBox - it worked great for steering, but there is no option to use the "turn on" function as the steering wheel only controls the left-right function of the controls directional joystick so you can't press up/down to get this function.
