Review on 🚰 Optimized Brita Standard Replacement Pitchers and Dispensers by Charles Lardieri

Revainrating 3 out of 5

What is really advanced about it? IMHO very little.

I bought the Brita filter that came with the Advanced filter but I bought an extra one to have on hand. It's been a long time since I've owned and used a Brita filter (or any filter for that matter), so this advanced filter is something new. From the description it seemed like a revolution in old soaking new replacement filter and all that. But actually, in my opinion, there is not much difference between the old replaceable filters and the improved ones. "Advanced" filters just means they don't need to be soaked for 30-45 minutes (I don't remember the exact time). I can't remember the exact price difference between the old filters and Advanced either, but there is a price increase for Advanced. If the difference is significant (let's say more than a few dollars) I would suggest saving money and just buying the non-advanced. With more advanced filters, you'll still have to run it under the tap for a few minutes, and you'll still have to water it out (or as Brita suggests: use it to water your plants) after the first two or three filters. Does that really make it "advanced"?

Pros
  • Replacement water jug filter
Cons
  • Small parts
