The other reviewers are right. I have been using Brita filters for many years and they have never failed prior to this order. The former filters quickly over a period of about two weeks and slows down significantly (it takes hours to fill a jug). I thought maybe it was this filter and put in the second one. I've had Britta for a few years now and I've finally used up my last filter. The filter I took out was shorter and wider and fit perfectly. This replacement filter is not tight at all. I have to make sure it fits snugly in the hole or when I fill it up the water will just spill over the walls onto the floor. The grooves do not line up because the filter does not touch the inside of the shaft. I'm a skeptic so I only bought one filter. I need to look for a more sustainable option.

Tried cheaper non-brite filters but unfortunately they aren't as good. These new Brita filters also don't require a 15-minute soak in water. Instead, you simply run cold water through the water filter for 15 seconds and you're good to go. Also, there are far fewer black spots on the top of the Brita canister and the water tastes great.
