Tried cheaper non-brite filters but unfortunately they aren't as good. These new Brita filters also don't require a 15-minute soak in water. Instead, you simply run cold water through the water filter for 15 seconds and you're good to go. Also, there are far fewer black spots on the top of the Brita canister and the water tastes great. For a total savings of $1.50 to $2, branded filters just aren't worth it. I'm assuming they don't have that much activated charcoal in them. I base this on my extensive knowledge of water filtration technology and scientific experience. that's because I'm a PR specialist, so basically nothing, but the filter is excellent.
