Not a smooth finish! Very rustic look.
Bought as a replacement for a different blanket ladder that had broken. Light but thick sanded wood, very "rustic style". Easy to put together with a drill, the finish (although sanded) was rough and not sealed.got a splinter within the first 5 minutes of putting it together. Don't put expensive blankets on this unless you paint and/or clear coat as they will snag. Would prefer to have something covering the bolts on the sides as well.
