What bothered me the most was that the key was not the same as in the official photo. It's larger and has a large plastic tab that doesn't seem to serve any purpose other than to advertise the HP logo. This does not affect the functionality of the lock, but it will cause inconvenience. A photo of it was published. It's hard to test how secure this lock is, but my laptop hasn't been stolen yet so it seems to be working. It acts more like a visual deterrent, although I'm sure anyone with a pair of bolt cutters could easily get one. I'm not sure when this lock originated, but I've heard that an old pen + toilet paper roll won't work. Will not work with newer lock models. Just for your information. I haven't tested this myself. All in all it serves its purpose, so it looks good. I paid thirty one dollars for it.
