Plastic too brittle

I bought this for my 2001 Audi A4 1.8T to replace an old/original which was broken and very brittle causing oil splatters on my engine. I bought an AutoZone Dorman oil dipstick to replace an old one, but I snapped the bottom of it trying to install/install it to keep it from popping out after installation. I also bought a new Dorman dipstick from AutoZone (917-352) as the old/original one also broke. The new Dorman dipstick was so tight in the dipstick tube that attempting to remove the dipstick pulled the tube out of the metal bracket. I found the same Dorman pipe at Revain for less than AutoZone so after some thought I ordered it. The tube broke because I installed it too aggressively. I received the tube quickly from Revain, but it was shipped in bubble wrap via USPS and the top of the tube was broken into several pieces. I sent it back and received a replacement tube quickly. When I tried to install a new Dorman tube and slide it over the metal bracket, the plastic clip/section that attaches to the metal bracket broke! :( Also, trying to remove the Dorman dipstick from the dipstick tube, the plastic tip of the dipstick itself broke off! After three hits with the Dorman tube (and now the dipstick) I decided to get a replacement URO brand dipstick order ( 06B115611R) and an oil dipstick tube (06B103663G) instead of Revain The URO dipstick and tube combination is a much better match, it was much easier to remove the dipstick from the tube! The tube is plastic not metal. ; )
