Review on 🎧 Black Perforated Brainwavz Replacement Earpads with Memory Foam for Sony MDR 7506, V6 & CD900ST and Other On-Ear Headphones by Tony Flugence

Revainrating 5 out of 5

UPDATED - You will notice a slight difference in sound

I bought the red perforated version and got them to replace the standard pads on a pair of Sony V6s. Memory foam makes a difference (not a big deal, but noticeable) to comfort. I've read others say it makes your cans sound different. In short, you will. You're right. You'll need to turn the volume up a bit and maybe increase the bass volume a bit to get the same effect, due to a) the density of the memory foam compared to standard and b) the reasonable thickness of these pads. For me, this last point is the most important. Thanks to the memory foam, these pads are denser = less pressed against the side of the head. Since this will cause the cans to "stick out" of your ears more than the standard cans, you'll notice the sound differences I mentioned. They're not worse, just different. For me, the comfort outweighs the slight difference in sound. And over time, memory foam still compresses, so these differences can change over time. Overall I am satisfied with my purchase. I wanted more comfort and I got it. For this I am willing to increase the volume and bass by about 5%. Last thing to add is have a credit card, guitar pick, or other thin, rounded plastic handy. You need it to press and guide these pads when installed on phones. It took me about 10 minutes (5 each) to assemble them properly. UPDATED ON 11/28/20. After a month of use, I must add that the memory foam slightly doubles the external sound blocking of phones. I keep the air filter at a height near the bed at night. So now I can't hear everything. And MUCH more comfortable for long listening sessions. From stock highly recommended!
