One of my daughters naturally became scared of the dark overnight after I got rid of all the night lights in the house. I was looking for a new one on Amazon and came across this one. It wasn't super expensive so I thought "why not?". I tried the batteries first and I have to warn you that they only lasted two nights before they died. I chose to use the cable that came with it and had no problems. My kids love it and I love that I can just leave the cap on for some solid nighttime lighting or detach it and decorate with stars on the ceiling. You can control whether it rotates and changes colors. Overall a great purchase.
