Review on 🌈 Corsair LL Series LL120 RGB 120mm Dual Light Loop RGB LED PWM Fan 3 Pack + Lighting Node Pro (CO-9050072-WW) by Jake Powell

My experience was as follows: Out of the box, I opened up my Alienware Aurora R6 (circa 2017) and removed both 120mm fans, trying to fit both in the correct orientation keep. The upper fan is held in place by rubber fan parts that will break if overstretched. So I had to order 10 pieces. In addition to the 12 screws, maybe four pieces of rubber would be nice. The second fan had no brackets. In my case there is no space for a third fan. I carefully connected everything, trying to attach the hub and splitter in multiple places. See, the 6-fan splitter isn't in any of the product photos, but it's there. The hub and splitter are tiny pieces of plastic that have various connectors attached to them. My first attempt at gluing the hub and splitter together (using the included double-sided adhesive pads) was unsuccessful, so I had to pry them off. When she pryed the hub open with her fingers, the hubcap came loose and the guts fell out. Panic! The hubcap easily snapped back into place after a minor gut rescue operation. Finally I found a good spot inside the case to glue the parts and tucked the cables in so they wouldn't get caught in the spinning fans. The next problem was that the hub comes with a 9-pin mini USB to USB 2.0 female connector. I was sad to learn that my MoBo had no free USB 2.0 ports. While some are close to the I/O shield, they are soldered under metal covers and are therefore used by the back panel connectors. You will also need 2 SADA.power connectors going from the power supply. I had at least two empty ones. To solve my USB 2.0 problem, I did a little research and found a $35 PCIe card with two 9-pin USB 3.0 connectors. On my second search, I found two dongles that convert a USB 3.0 male connector to a USB 2.0 9-pin male connector (are you on board?). It costs $5 each, so another $45 Amazon order. I made sure to get the premiere because everything else takes weeks to be delivered. Looking back, I don't know why I even ordered two keys when I only needed one. I took a nap to get rid of the headache and when I woke up I had an epiphany. Instead of using the included mini-USB cable, I could buy a mini-USB to regular USB cable and run it through the back of the case to an available port. So I canceled the order (no problem with that) and ordered a basic 3ft cable for $5. $40 saved! Let's see how it goes when the new cable arrives. I hope it's the right guy. The RGB lighting works without it, but I can't control it in iCUE without a USB connection. The default RGB template without iCUE is the rainbow template. During this process I also installed sticks of Corsair RGB RAM which I can't see without removing the side panel. They can also be controlled with iCUE and are recognized immediately. Finally, iCUE controls my Corsair gaming mouse. This way all my Corsair products are controlled by iCUE and the RGB lighting of the Ailenware case is controlled by the Ailenware console. I prefer blue for everything, so I adjusted the themes in both programs.
