We just got a puppy Pit and wanted to try a feeder that would put the dog on a schedule. We really like it, but this is something more tailored towards a cat IMHO since they eat much smaller food. It works for a puppy but once your dog starts getting bigger this is not so ideal. I love the remote control feature, the scheduler, and so forth, but what our dog started doing is chewing on the dispenser piece and since the bowl holder is smaller, food gets everywhere.If you have a cat, you will love this. If you have a small dog that will always stay small (under 10lbs) then you will love this too. If you have a bigger dog, maybe not so much.Still giving it a 4 star rating
