Very rough cut grain picks up continually when staining or painting

Very rough. Grain picks up dramatically with stain, hard to sand smooth. Had to spray with several coats of poly then sand with 800 grit to get a relatively smooth surface. Recommend using other wood material like hard maple that does not continue to lift with every coat of stain or Poly.

Pros

The decal worked perfect to camouflage the bullet hole in the head of the bed from a misfired round

Cons

Not suitable for people who prefer modern or minimalistic home decor as it is a traditional design
