I modify them by inserting the linkage into a thin (red) RTV filled high temp silicone brass tubing after removing the black heat shrink tubing to make my tubing fit better. This ensures excellent thermal conductivity of the compound and protects it from physical and chemical attack. I've found these K's to provide an accurate temperature in my application (coffee roasting).
