As a teenager my first quality watch was a Seiko and I wore it for many years until I lost it. Since then I plan to buy more Seiko watches. I was drawn to the SUP385's simple yet striking design, particularly the blue mother-of-pearl dial. This is a really nice watch and I love it. It has been fully charged for several days and is keeping perfect timing so far. They arrived in a red box, not a black and white box (as another reviewer pointed out), so I verified it was a genuine Seiko watch by looking at the back of the case. It is engraved with the Seiko name, a six-digit serial number, and the movement number. The size of the watch face isn't small, but it's not overwhelming on my 5.5-inch wrist either. Therefore, it is ideal for formal occasions, casual wear and work. I will have to remove a few links from the strap but I will be happy to do so as I hope to wear this watch for many years.
