They did their job. The current version of this product (as of November 2018) does NOT come with a remote control or timer setting, only a switch. Reviews are misleading as previous buyers received an older version of the product. However, an on/off switch is all you really need to make your event a success. It took a lot of effort to light them up, even though all 125 bulbs out of 125 candles were lit. I will say the production is inconsistent and cheap so some light on/off switches are really hard to use and you have to force them very hard. During the night some of those dodgy lights turn off again as the switch is of poor quality. Overall, though, you get what you paid for and it's a good deal for the amount of light you get.
