I am very happy with this hat. It arrived safely and looks cute. The weave of the straw material isn't very dense, but it's strong and will hold its shape - the brim doesn't dangle, which I wanted for a more formal look. A slightly looser weave allows only small holes in the sun to enter, which I think can help with airflow and breathability around the head to keep you warm. I only wore the hat once for an outdoor solar graduation party in 60 degrees so it wasn't too hot outside to know if my head would overheat but it protected my face and neck from the sun to avoid mine to protect skin from the sun. burn. I look forward to wearing it more often this summer and beyond.
