Review on Camera Canon PowerShot G15 by Aneta Ciesielska ᠌

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Good quality product, I rate this purchase excellent.

Very pleased with the camera. Never wished I had bought it. Despite some shortcomings, the device deserves 5 stars. For the sum of the most important advantages allows you to break away from competitors - compacts. Got pros: Listed in descending order of importance: 1. Fast optics (1.8-2.8) And this is at 5x zoom! 2. Optimal, universal range of focal lengths (28-140). 3. Good image processor. In particular, noise reduction, which allows you to "smooth out" noise when increasing iso. At iso800 and even 1600 - you can take quite high-quality pictures, without grain (although it is desirable to set the noise reduction to the maximum). Compared test photos from different advanced compacts. On the indicative, working iso800 - the noise is least noticeable on the G15. Slightly better was the RX100 and much better than the G1x. But this is not surprising, the Matrixes are already big there. 4. Pretty fast. All functions - power on, autofocus, zoom, response to pressure and others - work quickly and accurately. 5. Adequate operation of automation. 6. A sufficient number of manual settings, with the ability to control them on the "wheels" and various buttons. 7. Dimensions. Such a flat brick. It won't bulge your pocket too much. 8. High-quality assembly, good materials. My copy was assembled in Japan. The feeling of a monolith and a well-made thing. 9. Video. Quick srart using a separately displayed button, and in any desired user mode. High definition (FullHD). Quickly focuses and holds it, focusing on faces. 10. Excellent value for money. I took it with a canon guarantee for 14500r. With its cons. The cons pale before the pros. (personally for me). 1. At low ISO values (100-200) there is a slight hint of noise. But it is insignificant, and is noticeable only at high magnification. (But in some other cameras, for example the Olympus XZ-1, there is no noise at all at iso 100. But at iso 400 everything is already dotted with noise there). 2. There is no swivel display (but the thickness of the device due to this is less). I'm even calmer without him (nothing to break) :) 3. Color reproduction, of course, is not like that of Nikon DSLRs. There is a small commitment. But, again, this is a characteristic Canon color, and on the contrary, someone likes it more. 4. The flash is hidden. Sometimes, in the hustle and bustle, especially when shooting at full auto, you stupidly forget to pop up the flash. And I have to declare another double)) 5. Video: -FullHD only 24fps. That is, when there is fast movement in the frame, it starts to strobe. - Another important feature of the video, which I still attribute to the minuses: no matter how you cover the aperture, when you press the video, the depth of field immediately drops, and points to faces. At the same time, the background is always blurred, as in portrait shooting. This effect is especially enhanced when zooming. Effectively? volume? Yes ! But sometimes you want to shoot so that everything is in sharpness. But there is no such possibility. - Slow zoom - crawls at the speed of a turtle. In short, this is not a video camera. Therefore, I withdraw my accusations :)
