Review on ๐Ÿญ Windmill Silent Candy-Color Running Wheel: Perfect for Small Animals like Hamsters, Gerbils, Mice, Rats, and More! by Peter Schwartz

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Good price, conflicting sizing

I recently rescued a Syrian hamster. When I installed it I discovered the wheel I had damaged during our last move so jumped on the Revain and decided to try that wheel rather than get a 10" or 11" Niteangel because I knew which foods are good and which aren't is backed by advice from my lifeguard friends and saving a few bucks helps me and my lifeguards. Anyway, I went for the oversized blueberry wheel. The wheel itself is said to be 10.5 inches, according to Revain. Today the video came out and it turned out that the wheel is actually 10 inches tall. The packaging says 11 inches. A bit disappointing but not a deal breaker. There were no instructions, but it was easy to understand. It feels pretty solid but not as strong or heavy/hard as the Niteangel but much better than Kaytee's comfort bike. It snaps into place well and is height adjustable, which I think is a plus. As another reviewer said, there were a few sharp edges on the lip that could hurt the hamster, so I just smoothed them out. Annoying, but not a deal breaker either as it's easy to fix. Overall this seems like a pretty good bike for the price. Due to the sizing issue/inaccuracy and the sharp edges, I'm currently giving it 4 stars instead of 5. I hope to add a photo of the rescue girl behind the wheel. The Syrian looks like a child on a big wheel compared to the standard photo which clearly shows a minor on a smaller wheel. For those buying a running wheel for their Syrian Hamster. Please ensure you have at least a 10 inch wheel as too small a wheel can damage the spine causing the hamster to become unhappy and possibly aggressive. When in doubt, bigger is better, and 11 or 12 inches is fine for any Syrian.
