Review on πŸ”Œ GE myTouchSmart WiFi Smart Light Dimmer: Works with Alexa & Google Assistant, No Hub Required by Mike Shah

From now on I will have to avoid GE switches.

I only have one GE switch out of 20+ smart devices in the house. One thing I forgot about GE shifters is the louvers on the side of the shifter. If you put it in a box with other switches, you'll have trouble lining everything up. The reason I couldn't get off this switch is because I just couldn't get it to work with my Orbi router. As I mentioned earlier, I have over 20 other devices that I have added to the network. Most of them work at a frequency of 2.4 GHz. None gave me setup problems. This switch after a few tries says it's plugged in and trying to work, then detects there's a firmware update and tries to upload the firmware to no avail. The switch needs to be rebooted and added back to the network where it will attempt to update the firmware and the process will be repeated. If only GE could get rid of the ribs on the side and make it work with dual-band routers. that would be the winner.

  • Annual trial
Cons
