I've tried at least four other competing DVI-USB-C adapters and none of them have helped connecting an old (2005) Apple Cinema HD display to a new one a MacBook. Either they gave intermittent signals, or they gave no signal at all. This product worked immediately and without interruption. I connected the display's DVI output to this adapter, plugged the adapter's USB-C into my laptop, and the display immediately woke up, showing the desktop and dock, and the cursor.
