I build outdoor poles, electric cars and recumbent bikes and use 12V lighted switches on all my builds. The benefit of these special switches is that the kit includes wire extensions for all three ports and hot solder connectors to connect to existing wires. If you don't need wires and connectors, you can find slightly cheaper lighted switches when you shop around. Also keep in mind that this is a snap switch, so you'll need to be able to drill holes and size the entire sheet metal accurately enough to ensure the switch is a secure fit.
