I bought the DUOMEIQI 8GB (2 x 4GB) 2RX8 PC3-12800 Kit for my 2010 27" iMac with i3 processor. There's a lot of memory issues and those old iMacs so I was afraid it wouldn't work, but it was cheap and I had other devices to use it in. Although they are faster memory they work fine with the original 4GB (2 x 2GB) that came with OSX, runs 1000% better with 12GB memory The system was unusable with 4GB. I'm pretty sure this will work in a 2011 iMac and the speed spec for 2011 is correct. The storage runs at the same speed as the original 4GB in 2010, so faster RAM isn't necessary. No problem. Don't worry about all the talk about having to buy special memory for 2010, perfect, no outages for 3 months of 24/7 work. If you have a 2010 i5 or i7 iMac, you can use 8GB modules to add even more memory, but the i3 won't boot with 8GB modules, so stick with those 4GB and it'll feel like a new computer feel.
