The product looks good and makes the controller work when plugged in, so it works for my purposes. But there are some big issues with it if you plan on using it with a PS5 controller. First, when the PS5 needs to perform data transfer, e.g. B. updating the controller firmware (of which there have been several), using this cable will fail. The cable that came with the PS5 works fine, but this one doesn't. The same applies to charging. When I use the USBC cable that came with the PS5, the controller charges just fine. With this cable, the controller dies shortly after I unplug the cable. It looks like it delivers enough power to keep it running when plugged in, but doesn't have enough power to charge it efficiently. I'm afraid this could also damage the battery in the PS5 controller, but only time will tell. Mid-session this will do the job just fine. However, it cannot serve as a full replacement if you lost the original USBC cable. You don't get good charges or you can't update the firmware. Update: It turns out that if your controller is completely dead and you try to connect it with this cable, it won't supply enough power to use the controller. Again, the USBC that comes with the PS5 works just fine. You will definitely regret buying this product.
