So I ordered this rail kit to fix a Switch that was having trouble connecting the Joy-Cons when they were attached. Joy-Cons go great with everything else. After ordering, I found the exact same product on another listing for about $5 cheaper with the same free shipping. Unfortunately when I saw a different product listing I was unable to cancel my order as it was already packaged for shipping. However. When I opened the package, I immediately noticed a small scratch on the left rail that had taken some of the black paint off. There was some oil on site so I'm guessing it was noticed before it was packed. Since it was a very minor blemish, I ignored it and moved on. Some of them had another pretty one. Both ribbon cables had black spots that looked like corrosion, scorching, or something bad. I wasn't sure if they would work, but wiping the marks didn't seem to change the marks, so I decided to try them anyway. total about 20-25 minutes. If a thermal paste comes with a shield when you remove it, be sure to rub that spot on the shield a bit while you put it together to redistribute/combine the paste. The last 2 days they worked without problems. We probably have 30 minutes, so my concerns about the black paint on the ribbon cables seemed overdone. Unfortunately, something strange is going on with the right rail. Everything seems to work fine, but the last thing you need to build into a controller is pretty crude. I haven't explored much yet, but it could be a rough spot on the rail that the controller has to go through, or the pins at the bottom of the rail aren't moving enough or are stuck a bit. I am not sure.
