I've done some minor electrical work around the house, added new ceiling fans, hooked up Cat-6 to cameras and rooms, ran coax, etc. I was tired of using a cloakroom. to try to run wires through my walls which is why I bought this. And honestly I was very happy with it. The first project was running Cat 6 cables through my soffits to my new cameras. When I first used it, it caught a few times going through the one and a half inch hole. The brass fittings are wider than the rods so they hang down when the cord is inserted. It's not a big problem. A little wiggle, a little nudge, and the bars were released and moved forward. There were no problems with the first cable. The second cable was under the aluminum paneling at the bottom of the canopy. Worked like clockwork again. I was able to route the bars back to my connection point, attach the wire with a patch, and pull it out again. A few snags where the brass fittings snagged on the siding but no problems at all. The third time it didn't work. Sliding the rod through the soffit to the ceiling of the subsoil, the rods hung. I could neither push nor pull back. After wiggling the bars and pulling them loose, I was able to pull the bars out. I have only fished with 10 rods and only pulled out 8. The brass fitting broke between rod 8 and 9. This got my line and two rods stuck in the wall. I was lucky to be able to pull the cable out with a hook from the other side, so I removed the cables and broken rods. Many people here had the same problem. The fittings are just too brittle and will break through the walls under the usual tension of the fishing wire.
