We used this instrument to measure 2018 within the Chernobyl Exclusion Zone (Zone). It was the best of the inexpensive detectors and compares very well in linearity and reproducibility to values obtained from a professional NIST calibrated device (manufactured by Mirion). We've published a peer-reviewed article reviewing the performance of this and other devices. The Chernobyl zone isn't as radioactive as it was years ago, but on average it was about six times the average dose in the UK and higher at hotspots like the western radiation path. This model is almost identical to the dosimeters provided by our Ukrainian colleagues that we used on this and three previous visits to the site. A great buy for your money in my opinion.
