My 9 year old daughter needed summer pajamas as all her pajamas were long - sleeves with pants. I ordered the color Tie Dye (1) in size 10. They fit her well. The top is hooded and definitely cropped which is ok as we bought this set for her to wear at home. I would suggest going up a size if you plan on wearing it for a long period of time. The shorts have pockets, which is always useful.
