They are not meant for hard work, I wouldn't try them on cardboard or leather. But for carrying in a purse or knitting bag for cutting yarn, thread and paper, it is enough. They don't open and close completely smoothly, but if I line them up correctly, they all work. So I think it's a fair deal for the price. At some point I would love to have a pair that are all metal and run smoothly, but I also know that I will have to pay more for this pair than six of them.
