Review on 🎧 Zalman ZM-MIC1 High Sensitivity 3.5mm Jack Headphone Microphone with Mini Clip for Computer PC Streaming and Gaming by Laura Thomas

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Apparently not bad with the right sound card.

EDIT: changed from 2 to 4 stars. I decided to make sure it wasn't my motherboard sound card. I borrowed a USB sound card from work for testing (just a cheap USB connector for a microphone and a sound card with audio output). To my surprise, it made a HUGE difference. I still have the issue of the clip not attaching to my earbuds without a pad, but the recording quality is much better now. I think if you had the same radio quality problem as me, look into a cheap USB sound card. ORIGINAL: Sounds like garbage. I have another high end mic that I bought to do more professional recordings but wanted to add a mic to my Sennheisers for some gaming without using another. It looked good and got a lot of good reviews. I didn't expect it to match my other mic, but I expected to be able to hear myself without being overwhelmed by background hiss. Poorly; 1) Won't attach to the cord of my Sennheiser 439 headphones. The clip is made for thicker cords and I had to run about 4 strips of tape around it to keep it in place. 2) In its position on the cable (tried different levels between chin and chest) I have to increase the microphone level in the windows to the maximum (100) with the maximum increase (30 dB) in order to get into the microphone here as well. And at the same time, the noise in the background overwhelms me. The only way I got decent sound out was to manually hold it an inch from my mouth with the same gain settings of 100 and 30dB, but then I sit and hold the mic in front of my mouth and it's not there. attached to the cord.3) Do I need another one? It doesn't match my headphones and sounds like crap. OK ;1) wow. He writes. 2) If you like listening to poorly matched radio interference, this microphone is perfect for you. That's exactly how it looks like; Radio interference mixed with your voice. My other mic is a USB mic that sounds great. Maybe I just have a bad example of this particular mic, maybe my front and rear mic jacks on my computer are junk (but I doubt it). But I can't agree with all the positive reviews this mic has received on Amazon.
