Saved my rug best in house cleaning

I have a large white rug and two 50 lb dogs. (By the way, carpets robbed dogs.) In addition to "accidents," reddish-brown stains began to appear on carpets, where dogs often lie and fight. I've tried using a 'natural' carpet cleaner (I'm weird about chemicals) to clean up accidents and it's been an absolute disaster. Having a Kirby, I decided to order this pet owner's carpet cleaner before I became totally disillusioned with carpets. I'm so glad I did. In total it took me an hour to clean an 8x10 heavily soiled carpet in two separate sessions. For comparison, I spent 3 hours on a 2x4 using a "natural" carpet cleaner. With this Kirby cleanser, I tackled the worst spot first and it vanished before my eyes. I regretted not taking a "before" photo so I quickly took a photo of the second worst spot before proceeding and again after I finished cleaning that spot. I'm not sure if Kirby recommends this, but I treated the whole carpet with carpet cleaner, then I rinsed the whole carpet again with plain water. How to wash and then rinse. I get rid of the dirtiest spots with another wash and then rinse. I tried pacing back and forth on the carpet very slowly when rinsing after all the water had been dispensed to try to soak up the water again. I dropped the tank several times in the process, which indicates that it absorbed a lot of water. Also, I had Bissell Carpet Shampoo before I bought my Kirby and the Kirby is much better. It washes faster and dries faster. For lack of a better description, the scent is fresh and powdery. Again, I'm a bit weird about chemicals so I don't like artificial fragrances or cleaning products of any kind and this one isn't very off-putting. And I can compromise on the chemical aspect considering how effectively it cleaned my carpets. and dry it completely on the bottom, then turn it back over to finish drying. I've been doing this for years without damaging my almost 100 year old hardwood floors.)
