Review on Metronic Impulse Sealer Machine: Advanced Sealing for Optimal Performance by Philip Latham

Revainrating 1 out of 5

Works fine for about a month but I found a solution.

This is one of those reviews but I hate to give it because this seal could be a great five star machine. When it arrived I was pleased with the sturdy construction. It was well built, seams and corners taped and sealed perfectly, I've had it for about a month and in that time I've sealed several hundred bags flawlessly, it's a workhorse. Today the heating element died and I did wear out the protective cover over the element quite a bit, but that's not a problem because up to this point the thing has worked perfectly. I finally figured out how to replace the heating element and substrate, but it wasn't easy. and the screws have been removed and that's not good so i can't give it 5* but i will raise it to 3*. I will say a lot of the reviews talked about too much heat and cutting the pockets. However, I had the same problem. I was able to fix this by waiting for the package to cool before removing it from the pad. Some materials require a longer cooling time for the plastic to harden before they can be detached from the substrate without sticking. I then tried replacing the element, the screws are flimsy and each had a Phillips chipped off so the tip of the screw couldn't get caught, it was every single one, plus they were tight enough to loosen as far as the little ones screws. So I've had this sealant for about a month now and I have a dilemma on how to replace the heating element and screen without tearing it all up. I had to go to the hardware store and buy some bits to drill out the screws and try to replace them. Now I'm so annoyed that I can hardly say anything good about this sealant. I've spent the last 2 hours on this and had to spend more money, gas and time running across town to get replacement tools and screws, just replace the heating element. I am so annoyed with this thing that it has tarnished and ruined what should have been a rave and enthusiastic review. Quality control should be weak if they got away with broken screws. The manufacturing must be of poor quality if they tighten the screw so much that the heads pop off and it takes hours to replace the element. how to fix a bad manufacture by simply replacing a simple heating element.
