This lamp is exactly as advertised. It has a solid aluminum frame with a wooden base and is USB powered. It doesn't come with a USB box but I've had a few as they aren't hard to come by and to be honest the lamp comes with a light source that you never have to change so the lack of a USB power- Box doesn't bother me. A USB cable is connected to the lamp, to which an on/off and dimmer switch is attached. My favorite part is that pressing the power buttons cycle through 3 different tones of light from hyper white to bright yellow. The instructions were very odd, if bordering on gibberish, unless I missed something. They say something about magnetic balls automatically turning on the lamp. Maybe that's how the buttons work. good product and works as advertised.
