I played a Srixon Soft Feels ball a while ago but the ionomer coating was too easy to scratch. Then I switched to Pro-V1 because I always liked finding them or getting them as gifts. Looking for a cheaper alternative, I switched to the Srixon Z-Star, which is engineered to match 90x the compression of the PU-coated Pro-V1. Z-Star played well, but after more research I decided to try the Q-Star tour. It has the same coverage as the Z-Star but a slightly lower compression ratio of 75. Now I feel like I'm getting all the benefits of the Z-Star and Pro-V1 but I'm adding 20 yards to my drives (from 230 on average up to 250 on average). For $2 less per ball than the Pro-V1 and 20 yards more, I've found my golf ball for the foreseeable future. IMPORTANT NOTE: Be sure to purchase the Q-Star Tour. The regular Q-Star has an ionomer coating that scratches too easily.
