Although they are expensive I can't fault the quality or strength of these staples. They are excellent, I tested the counter well and it can support my 210lb body without flexing, enough for my breakfast bar. Note that I have 4 of these spaced 10" apart and supporting a hardwood post. However, fasteners to secure them are a little harder to find. Because they beveled the countersunk holes of the heads you would expect the heads to sit flush, but unless you can find the perfect hardware for these mounts the head will not be flush. In my case this wasn't really a problem because I made it have the top myself. part but may cause problems for others. .If anyone knows what hardware can be flush mounted with these brackets, please reply so others may benefit.
