Review on 🌑️ Red Taylor Precision Instant Read Wired Probe Digital Meat Food Grill BBQ Cooking Kitchen Thermometer with Timer Alarm by Kim Savage

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Don't drop the probe!

I like the convenience and price of the Taylor thermometer, but I use the third (and last) thermometer because the sensor always fails once the liquid touches the top of the sensor where it connects to the connecting wire to the display device. Once this happens, the HHH indicator will light up, and if you're unlucky, removing and replacing the battery won't reset. I gave this product 1 star because the company needs to be aware of this design flaw, they certainly could have prevented it (I shrink-wrapped the dipstick tightly) but they don't. Probably because they can make more money selling replacement sensors (which oddly cost more than the entire unit). If only there were strap-on thermometers with temperature sensors like digital thermometers <sigh>.

Pros
  • HINTS AND TIPS: Digital thermometers are NOT intended to be left in food during cooking. Plastic and electronic components can be damaged by excessive heat.
Cons
  • I have problems
