Mostly accurate I think

Well that gives you a good idea of the temperature. But I can't believe the temperature is changing so quickly. Up and down in just a few seconds. Maybe I expected too much. I use it in conjunction with an Aeropress and frother to determine the temperature of the kettle and frother.

Pros
  • Good Build
Cons
  • Updates

Works as expected, seems accurate

So far, so good. Matches my digital meat thermometer within one degree and the temp based alarm works so I don't have to keep opening the oven door and overcooking the meat. The reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is that the included cheap battery was DOA.

Pros
  • Absolutely amazing!
Cons
  • No insurance

Wouldn't recommend at all.

Looks and feels really cheap. I wouldn't use it to make chocolate or any type of cuisine or pastry that requires precision. The switch is on the back and is not always convenient to use. Wouldn't recommend at all. Overall I wasn't happy with the build and I had no luck with the wing scale which broke after just a month of use.

Great for the price!

A very affordable food thermometer. I love that the stainless steel look goes with my kitchen decor. It comes with a metal braided temperature sensor, which is a plus for durability. The probe did a good job in the oven but didn't stand a chance on the hot grill I used to grill. The probe collapsed in an open flame grill and stopped working. While you can buy replacement probes, it's cheaper to buy the entire unit again. I would recommend it for ovens but not for grilling.

  • New
Cons
  • I won't say anything

Don't buy this for the grill. The wire melts in the cable.

This is the second unit in a row I have bought and the unit itself is fine but the 'probe cable' has failed on each of them because the 'probe cable' is the Couldn't stand the heat in the grill. From the outside it looks like the cable has a metal jacket, but any wire they use inside melts and then the wire becomes rigid. Used twice and now the second cable is junk. I tried buying a replacement cable myself after the first one broke but it's more expensive than a brand new one. Do not buy this…

Pros
  • Fits many
Cons
  • Expensive

Don't drop the probe!

I like the convenience and price of the Taylor thermometer, but I use the third (and last) thermometer because the sensor always goes bad once the liquid touches the top of the sensor where it meets the connected is wire connected to the display unit. Once this happens, the HHH indicator will light up, and if you're unlucky, removing and replacing the battery won't reset. I gave this product 1 star because the company needs to be aware of this design flaw, they certainly could have prevented it

The best ratio of price and quality!

Cruel honesty here. I want a bluetooth BBQ thermometer with multiple probes while staying at home in inclement weather. Other than that, this is my second. The first lasted about 4 years with constant, almost daily use. The probe's braided shield finally broke due to excessive bending and there were no more readings. I tried getting a replacement sensor but found it more economical to just buy a brand new unit. I like how it works. It's extremely accurate and I WILL NOT COOK MEAT WITHOUT IT! I…
