My mom had a two in one glass cake stand. It was very pretty but so heavy and it took a little longer to wash and keep the glass clean. This product gives me the same use (and even more because it has 3 uses) and it's lightweight so I can easily pick it up and move it around. It's made of plastic, so make sure your pastries are cool before you put them in. I have no complaints and basically bought this for a cake stand. It stays on my dining table to hold cakes, cookies, donuts, muffins, etc. However, I can't wait to use it as a punch or bowl for a large salad or dessert. You can also use the base plate to store cheese, crackers and sauces. The possibilities are only limited by your imagination. You will not be disappointed with this purchase.
