I purchased this dress as a possible alternative to an expensive semi-formal wedding guest dress. I am 5' 6", 130 lbs, 32DDD, ordered medium in navy. My mom, who is 5'4" and weighs "about the same" :) also fit into the dress, though it felt snug. After trying countless dresses at department stores, my mom ended up ordering the large. Fit and overall cut were perfect for both of us, not to short on me, and just covered my mom's knees when standing, no cleavage showing, straps placed well for a bra, the sweetheart neckline and lace add allure while keeping it family friendly. Would pass at a semi-formal event and would not look over the top at a less dressy affair. The lace, like all lace, will need extra caution. The scallop along the bottom of the dress does start to pull away, leaving a cobweb type fray, this could easily be cut away right before an event. My mom will wear this to the wedding. I'm also keeping it because it fit so well and would work for various occasions. Worth a try!
