I bought an i7-7700k along with a used computer. When starting Windows 10, it initially showed a red temperature. And went to the block. Unable to load Windows. It turned out that one mount at the standard fan broke off. Replaced with a tower fan for 900r and temperature at start became 37 degrees in the bios. After that, there were no problems for 90 days. Comparing with the i3-8100 this old processor is two to three times faster. The processor works at 100% for days on end.
