Worked well but not for long

Installed in my '68 Cadillac. I wanted to basically eliminate the stock externally regulated alternator and add a few extra amps to the game. The car has air suspension and runs on two 200 psi compressors. The generator was a welcome addition. The compressors did not freeze, the headlights burn brightly, the turn signals constantly flash. It was wonderful. for some time. The alternator still runs great as long as I'm above idle. Circuit open circuit error. I don't normally write negative reviews but I'm disappointed that they don't charge anymore when idle, especially on a car that drives once a week for fun. Compressors, lights and all electrical components may only be operated while driving. Well if it was a daily driver I wouldn't think much about it as the price for extra amps was good but it's not a daily so disappointing. It started after about 18 months of use. Unfortunately, the guarantee has expired. As the car was in the shop for other upgrades I have not replaced it yet but will be enjoying the car again soon.

Cons
